About the event
In this book launch, Dr. Bolton shares the path taken from her creative writing-based dissertation to full-length poetry collection. In her doctoral research, Dr. Bolton used poetic-phenomenological research methods to explore the poetic essence of the singular postpartum depression experience. While her dissertation led her to explore the experience narratively, upon completion of the project Dr. Bolton continued to creatively explore the experience using a different genre. Coronation of the Cosmic Orphan (Resource Publications, 2022), her first full-length collection of poems, is rooted in the singular mental health experience
and the poetic-phenomenological research method. Dr. Bolton will discuss her path from graduate student to poet/editor, the creative writing publication process, and the applications of creative writing pursuit for various communities.
